UNO Engineering Collection
The UNO Engineering Collection comprises an assortment of papers, files, binders, and booklets related to engineering education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and its predecessor the Municipal University of Omaha (OU), gathered from different sources. These include records from the Omaha Engineering School Task Force (1995); binders of memos, letters, articles, reports, and newspaper clippings on the engineering building controversy (1994-1999); a proposal for establishing a Master of Science in Management Information Systems (1993), reports on engineering and technology at OU and UNO (1966 and 1969); engineering curricula reviews (1962 and 1971); a Department of Engineering proposal (1962); a College of Engineering and Technology yearbook (1981); the report of the Task Force on Engineering Education (1994); a textbook on the internet (1995); a report on engineering and technology research and development activities at UNO and the University of Nebraska--Lincoln (1973-1975); reports from Omaha businesses and coalitions concerning the engineering education needs of Omaha (1991-1995); and four boxes of papers related to the creation of the College of Information Science and Technology at UNO (1994-1996). These materials have not yet been arranged and described.

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Nebraska Omaha assumes no responsibility.
