Reflections in Time, 1979 - 2007


Reflections in Time is a series of 125 interviews produced from 1979 to 2007 with former UNO staff, faculty, and administrators. Of the 125 interviews in this series, the first 73 programs were produced by UNO Professor of Communication Paul Borge and the final 52 were produced by UNO Dean of Arts & Sciences Jack Newton.

An online collection including a biographical sketch of the interviewee, summary of the interview, and link to the streaming version of the video interview was begun in 2015 and is available at Curating the Reflections in Time online exhibit began in August 2015 and will continue as resources permit until thorough and informative pages are completed for each UNO interviewee. Oral history is one of many sources available to consult as part of your research. It reflects the experience of an individual and shares personal opinions offered by the interviewee in response to questioning. Additional sources can verify and provide additional information to the narrative of events presented in oral histories. Conditions Governing Access

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Nebraska Omaha assumes no responsibility.

Conditions Governing Use

Users are required to view the interviews available online. Due to their fragile nature, the original videotapes may not be viewed in Archives & Special Collections.
