Naylor, Kirk E.


Kirk E. Naylor joined the faculty of the University of Omaha in 1960 as Dean of Administration. In 1967, he became president of the university, and he presided over the merger of the Municipal University of Omaha with the University of Nebraska System in 1968. He continued to serve as president of the University of Nebraska at Omaha until 1971, after which he served the university as a professor of Educational Administration until his retirement in 1981. Prior to coming to the University of Omaha, he worked in the Kansas public school system and at Ft. Hays Kansas State College.

Scope and Contents The Kirk Naylor Collection comprises materials gathered by University of Omaha President Kirk Naylor (later University of Nebraska at Omaha Chancellor). Scope and Contents The collection includes news clippings, resolutions, correspondence, student survey, and other documents related to the occupation student organization BLAC (Black Liberators for Action on Campus) of the office of University of Nebraska at Omaha Chancellor Kirk Naylor in November 1969 and the subsequent response.
