Newell, Richard S., 1933-


Richard Newell’s teaching career began at the University of Hawaii in the early 1960s. He joined the Department of History at the University of Northern Iowa in 1967 from where he retired in 1995. He served as Assistant Representative for the Asia Foundation in Afghanistan from 1966-1967. He also was a National Defense Foreign Language fellow in Hindi and in Persian.
