Black Liberators for Action on Campus


BLAC, the Black Liberators for Action on Campus, was a student group established circa 1968 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. BLAC protested discrimination at UNO and agitated to establish Black Studies at UNO. Circa 1990, BLAC became the African-American Organization (AAO), which is still active on UNO campus today.

Scope and Contents The collection includes news clippings, resolutions, correspondence, student survey, and other documents related to the occupation student organization BLAC (Black Liberators for Action on Campus) of the office of University of Nebraska at Omaha Chancellor Kirk Naylor in November 1969 and the subsequent response.
