The Mary Münchoff Folio Collection and Original and Miscellaneous Manuscripts have been cataloged in WorldCat. The music scores have not been further arranged or described.
Professor Ruetz collected and organized this collection prior to donating it to University Archives.
Mary Münchhoff (1867-1942), an international singer renowned in Europe in the late 1800s and early 1900s, handed down her personal library of more than 2000 music scores (her performance repertoire) to her former student Mary Fitzsimmons Massie (1896-1987), who for many years had the reputation of being the finest voice teacher in Omaha, Nebraska. Massie bequeathed the Münchhoff collection to the University of Nebraska at Omaha upon her death in 1987.
Donated by Robert G. Ruetz.
Music scores which were not inscribed by Mary Münchhoff or her students were integrated into the general Criss Library Music Score Collection. They are cataloged and can be identified by the book plate inside the front cover.
Processed by Criss Library staff prior to 2014. Notably, some work was known to have been done by Robert Hallis, the humanities librarian at UNO from 1993/1994 until 1997/1998.
A memorial plate reading "University of Nebraska at Omaha University Library/Mary Münchoff Music Collection/In Memory of Mary Fitzsimmons Massie" has been placed inside the front cover of each score.
A print inventory of the collection from the time of donation is available in the donor file in Archives and Special Collections.
