Custodial History

Purchased by donor, Amy Schindler, through online auction website ebay on February 7, 2014. Upon request the seller provided the following information about the provenance of the letters:

"I bought these at an estate sale on the far west side of the Tucson Mountains. It was in a retirement type mobile home community. These were in a box lot that I purchased because believe it or not, there were some canceled envelopes from an address that was the same as some slides I purchased at another sale in Tucson previously. Very odd!

"I believe the person who had all of this stuff was a stamp collector and probably acquired these while collecting. I normally will not buy stamp/postal related items because one, I am really cheap, and two I am completely clueless but the above mentioned envelopes put me over the edge to get the lot of misc. postal related items. There were several very high priced stamp collecting books that I did not purchase."

Received into Arthur Paul Afghanistan Collection by Shaista Wahab on April 21, 2015.
