World Affairs Institute Lecture Series Collection
The World Affairs Institute Series comprises the print and audio records of the World Affairs Institute, a lecture series organized by the Municipal University of Omaha and its successor the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The institute ran from academic year 1947/1948 through 1971/1972. It was originally directed by William E. Daugherty, a professor of government at the University of Omaha. The institute featured a series of lectures on foreign affairs and policy issues. Speakers came from all over the world and included professors, journalists, diplomats, government officials, politicians, organizational directors, and authors. The collection includes news clippings arranged by year; a file of speaker lists, sponsor information, correspondence, reports, programs, and brochures; and an incomplete set of audio recordings on cassette tape of the lectures.
