The UNO Department of Sociology Collection is comprised of publications of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Department of Sociology (in its various forms) covering the period from about 1923 until about 1981. The collection includes Municipal University of Omaha Bureau of Social Research publications (authored by OU sociology professors) (circa 1932 to circa 1944); University of Omaha Department of Sociology bulletins and surveys on social issues in Omaha (1923-1957); typescript practicum reports, student papers, research seminar textbooks collaboratively authored by seminar participants, and sociological studies on Omaha conducted by OU/UNO students and faculty (1949-1981).

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records.
