Hollie Bethel Collection
The Hollie Bethel Papers includes materials related to Dr. Hollie Bethel's life in education. She served as a professor of Teacher Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from about 1953 until 1977. The collection includes two photo albums which cover her life from the age of four weeks to the last years of her life (1913-1998); loose photographs; a file of newspaper clippings; her doctoral degree, final examination, and graduation program; award certificates and plaques; a book on UNO history; and a 1957 Tomahawk (University of Omaha yearbook).

The collection is open for research use. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, the Nebraska Public Records Statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 84-712 through 84-712.09), and other relevant regulations. Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. In August 1998, Les Valentine, University Archivist, met with Jim Leslie, John Langan, and the executor of Dr. Hollie Bethel's estate. As Bethel had died with no heirs, Valentine was encouraged to gather from Bethel's apartment materials related to her "interests and involvements at UNO."
