Metal-Corbin, Josie

Josie Metal-Corbin was a dance professor in the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 1980 until her retirement in 2015. She served as director of the program from 1994 until 2015.

Selected books by Prof. Metal-Corbin include Dance for the Older Adult (multiple chapters) and Reach for It! A Handbook of Health, Exercise and Dance Activities for Older Adults (co-author).

She is married to David Corbin.

The materials in the UNO Dance Collection relate to the University of Nebraska at Omaha's dance program, dating from the group's founding as Orchesis in the 1930s, through its replacement by The Moving Company in the 1970s, and to the present. Materials related to the Omaha Modern Dance Collective, a frequent partner of The Moving Company in the 1990s and 2000s, are also included in the collection.
