Vera L. (Duerschner) Lundahl earned her B.S. degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1950, her M.S. from the University of Illinois in 1954, and her Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University in 1983. She taught physical education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) from 1950 through 1954, and then from 1965 through her retirement in 1993. As head of the dance program at UNO, she was involved with productions by UNO dance groups Orchesis and The Moving Company, the latter of which she founded in the early 1970s. She also did extensive research on choreographers, particularly Alwin Nikolais.
