Dawley, Elgia Leila Wittwer
Elgia Leila (Wittwer) Dawley was born on July 28, 1894, the daughter of Gottfried and Helena Ella (Dick) Wittwer. Dawley taught French and voice at a school in New York and was herself a singer. On June 3, 1922, she married Lee (Leo) Eldred Dawley, a general contractor. They moved to Olympia, Washington where Dawley along with his brother John formed Dawley Brothers Construction, a builder of many buildings in the city. Lee Dawley died in the 1970s and Elgia died in 1992.
