Briscoe, Marlin, 1945-

Marlin Briscoe was a student athlete at the Municipal University of Omaha, 1963-1968. He competed in multiple sports, but was most famed for football. During his time on the OU Indians team, his nickname was "The Magician" and his jersey number #27. He set 22 records for the school, some of which still stand a half century later. After graduation, he went on to be a professional football player. In 2016, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Scope and Contents Silent film of University of Omaha vs. Drake University football game in Des Moines, November 20, 1965. This is the only known surviving footage of Marlin Briscoe (#27) playing for the University of Omaha. The original 16mm film is owned by Drake University, but was loaned to the University of Nebraska at Omaha for digitization in 2016. Two digital files were produced, one masterfile encoded with JPEG2000 compression and one public access file encoded with H.264 compression.
