Heilman, Helen K. Hawkins
Helen K. (Hawkins) Heilman (1908-1969?) was a student at the University of Omaha in the academic years 1925/1926 and 1926/1927. She was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. N. H. Hawkins of Omaha, Nebraska, and she had a brother, Ralph Hawkins. After graduating from Omaha Central High School, she attended OU for two years. During her time at OU, she was a member of Pi Omega Pi sorority. After leaving OU, she attended Doane College. After that, she became a schoolteacher in Culbertson, Nebraska. She married Guy Heilman of Culbertson, and they had three children: Edward Heilman, JoAnn Easter, and Janet Hood. She passed away in Omaha at the age of 61.

Content Description The collection includes two Gateway yearbooks from the University of Omaha, for the years 1926 and 1927, which were the property of student Helen Hawkins, a member of Pi Omega Pi. The 1926 volume is unmarked and in good condition. The 1927 volume has numerous pieces of ephemera from 1925 through 1927 pasted upon the pages, including event invitations, event programs, seating markers, holiday and birthday cards, and news clippings.
