Thompson, William H.

 Person

William H. Thompson graduated from the University of Omaha in 1917. He later returned to OU as a psychology professor. When the Department of Philosophy and Psychology was first established in 1931-1932, Thompson served as the first chair. He also served as director of the Child Study Service (established 1937) for Omaha Public Schools and president of the OU Alumni Association. Finally, he served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 1942 until his retirement in May 1960. The William H. and Dorothy Thompson Alumni Center is named for him and his wife.
