National Association of Soda Jerks
The National Association of Soda Jerks was formed in the mid-1980s as an outgrowth of the Western Heritage Museum’s (Omaha) Red Cap program. The museum had also established their soda fountain around that time and later held reunions for people who had worked as soda jerks. The organization was trademarked by Betty J. Davis to keep the organization and its convention based in Omaha after the reunions separated from the museum instead of being taken over by an individual in another city to promote their business. The organization and its member earned national print, radio, and network television attention. Information for this administrative history was provided by the donor.
