Shizuoka University, established in 1949, is located in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It offers programs in humanities and social sciences, education, informatics, science, engineering, agriculture, science and technology, and law.



As of 2015, Shizuoka University has exchange agreements with 40 other universities in 21 countries, including the University of Nebraska at Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska (UNO), USA. UNO and Shizuoka University became sister schools in 1979, with a statement of affiliation signed by UNO Chancellor Del Weber and Shizuoka University President Ken Maruyama.
