Federal Writers' Project of the Works Progress Administration for the State of Nebraska
The United States Works Progress Administration (WPA) existed from 1935 until 1943. One of the projects of the WPA was the Federal Writers' Project (FWP) which produced books and pamphlets on a wide variety of topics, including state, county, and local histories and guides. The Omaha office of the WPA FWP generated written works related to Omaha and Nebraska. Many of the works compiled by the FWP were funded by state or local organizations, not always governmental.

The WPA Records are drafts and research notes used for the books and pamphlets produced by the Omaha office of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Federal Writers' Project (FWP) (1935-1943).
