The Center for Innovation in Arts Education was founded in 1998 with funding from the Getty Education Institute for the Arts and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. It is based in the University of Nebraska at Omaha Department of Art and Art History in the College of Communication, Fine Arts and Media. The Center collaborates with K-16 educators and art institutions to organize arts education projects. As of 2014, their major projects include Prairie Visions, CADRE II: The Arts, and various curriculum projects such as the Bemis Mural Project, the Iowa West Public Art Project, Nebraska Masterpieces Arts Education Series, Arts in Science Camp, and the Faith Ringgold Project.

Scope and Contents

The Iowa West Public Art Posters comprise five posters, each featuring a different artist who created a major work of public art in Council Bluffs, Iowa, for the Iowa West Public Art initiative, circa 2007-2009. The posters feature Brower Hatcher's "Wellspring" and "Oculus" (2007), William King's "Circus," "Interstate," and "Sunrise" (2007), Deborah Masuoka's "Haymarket Rabbits" (2007), Jonathan Borofsky's "Molecule Man" ...
